The four spaces

Three of the venues are named for islands in the bay — Natividad, San José and Del Carmen — and the fourth, Las Islas Salon, is the ballroom they divide from.

Las Islas Salon

This Ballroom/Event space for 200 people divides into three different and unique meeting rooms. The ballroom can be divided into three separate venues, all of which can be set up to include cutting edge audiovisual technology – from sound and lighting to video conferencing, outside broadcasting and more. Perfect for private gatherings to bigger corporate affairs, allow the talented event consultants at Costabaja to assist in finding the ideal venue and oversee every detail from start to finish. When the meeting is over, bond with your colleagues in the presence of the stunning Sea of Cortez.

Natividad Island, San José Island and Del Carmen Island

Costabaja’s facilities offer flexible indoor and outdoor reception areas for small group functions or larger social events. Each has free wifi and can be configured independently or opened up into the full ballroom.

Why groups choose La Paz over Los Cabos

Three reasons come up repeatedly. Cost — room rates, food and beverage and ground transport all run lower than the resort corridor at the tip of the peninsula. Focus — there is far less to distract a group in the evenings, which is either a drawback or exactly the point depending on why you are here. And the activity programme — whale sharks, sea lion snorkelling, sailing and sportfishing are all within a short boat ride, which makes the incentive half of an incentive trip genuinely worth travelling for.

Team activities on the water

• Espíritu Santo day trip — snorkelling with the sea lion colony at Los Islotes, plus beach time on the island. The best single group day out.
• Whale shark encounter — October through April, regulated and licensed, short boat ride from the city.
• Sailing regatta — out of the resort’s own marina.
• Sportfishing — the bay is one of the best-known fisheries on the peninsula.
• Golf — a scramble at El Cortés, with a halfway house between holes 6 and 14.
• Paddle board and kayak — straight off the resort beach, no transfer needed.
