Have fun in the Baja sun

Beach Club

Costa Baja Resort & Spa invites our guests to visit Blue Cortés Beach Club, the perfect spot to spend the day or watch the sunset in Baja California Sur. Lounge by the infinity pool, let the kids enjoy time at the kid’s club, or play a set on the tennis court. Mornings offer delicious smoothies and breakfast classics served along with local specialty dishes such as burritos percherón and traditional chilaquiles. For lunch, you can order from a wide assortment of snacks including ceviche, guacamole and chips, fresh seafood, quesadillas and more. And all day long, you’ll enjoy the beautiful sun, sea and sand that surrounds you.

Blue Cortés Beach Club

Connect with family and friends in a serene and discreet shelter. Let your eyes be lost in the endless blue of the Sea of Cortez, from an infinity pool or a beach bunk; feel the soft and fresh sand under your feet, captivate the senses with an outdoor massage, a cocktail or a good meal.

What a day there actually looks like

The water in front of the club is shallow and flat — there is effectively no surf inside the bay, and the shelf runs out for dozens of metres before it drops. That has two consequences. Small children can wade a long way safely, and paddle boards and kayaks are usable by people who have never been on one.

Mornings are for the water and the breakfast menu. Midday belongs to the infinity pool and the shade. The last two hours before sunset are the reason people stay — the light comes across the bay from the west, the heat drops, and the bar gets busy.

The wider beach picture

The resort beach is calm, sheltered and convenient. The famous beaches are further north on the same road, and worth a day each.

  • Playa Balandra — about 25 minutes. Shallow, enclosed, protected, with the mushroom rock. Daily visitor numbers are capped.
  • Playa El Tecolote — slightly further, wider and sandier, with palapa restaurants and boat operators running to Espíritu Santo.
  • Playa El Coromuel — closest to the city, with a water slide and a shaded beach club, popular with local families.
  • Playa Pichilingue — near the ferry terminal, calm water and waterfront restaurants.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is the beach club included in my room rate?

Blue Cortés is the owners' and guests' club for the Puerta Cortés development. Access arrangements and any day-pass charge depend on your rate and the season — confirm with reception when you check in.

Is there a kids' club?

Yes, at Blue Cortés, alongside the infinity pool and the tennis court.

Can I paddle board or kayak from the beach?

Yes. The beach at Costabaja Resort stretches out to sea with dozens of metres of shallow water and no waves, which makes it unusually forgiving for first-timers on a paddle board or in a kayak.
