Before each treatment, therapists use a tool named “bio-tensor” which allows them to use one of 8 signature blends according to your personal needs. These signature blends are made of essential oils and bach flowers to start relaxation and touch your soul.

House rituals

Ritual Damiana — 100 minutes

This treatment will take you into a journey of deep relaxation. Includes a 60 minute full body massage, herbal wrap, scalp and face massage. With this treatment you will experience a feeling of complete renovation.

Espíritu Ritual — 90 minutes

An ancestral experience that will make you feel at peace and in harmony. Includes a “cleanse” ritual and an exclusive massage technique with lemons and flower balm.

The local ingredients, and why they are used

The spa leans on plants that grow in this desert rather than on an imported wellness vocabulary. Damiana (Turnera diffusa) is the emblematic herb of Baja California Sur — a small yellow-flowered shrub used across the peninsula for centuries as a relaxant and tonic, and still bottled locally as a liqueur. It gives the signature ritual its name.

Bach flower remedies are used alongside the essential oil blends. The bio-tensor step at the beginning is a consultation device: it is how the therapist selects which of the eight house blends to work with, so no two treatments are quite identical.

The desert around La Paz also supplies jojoba, aloe and sea salt harvested from the evaporation flats along the coast — the same salt trade that put settlements on this coastline long before tourism.

Planning your visit

• Book ahead. The spa is small and the ritual treatments run 90 to 100 minutes, so slots go quickly in high season.
• Arrive early. Fifteen minutes before your appointment gives you time for the consultation without eating into treatment time.
• Pair it with the beach club. A morning at Blue Cortés and an afternoon ritual is the standard order of operations, not the other way round.
• Residents welcome. The spa serves both guests and residents of the Puerta Cortés development.
