Beachfront stays

Properties with the sea on the doorstep rather than down the road.

La Paz sits inside a sheltered bay, so “beachfront” here means flat, warm water rather than surf. These are the properties where you can walk from your room onto sand — a mix of resorts on the Pichilingue road and a handful of older beach hotels closer to town.

Note that the city’s two famous beaches, Balandra and El Tecolote, have no accommodation on them at all. They are protected areas. Staying beachfront in La Paz means staying on a different, quieter piece of coast and driving to those.
